“10 minutes a day for abs!”
The famous Chloe Ting 2-week ab challenge has been around for years, and the 2019 version has already hit its 6th anniversary.
I know I’m late to the party, but I finally decided to share my honest review 💪.
Do Ab Workouts Actually Burn Belly Fat? 🤷♀️
Most people (including me) start ab workouts because of belly fat
But here’s the truth: ab workouts alone won’t get rid of belly fat
There are two main types of fat:
Visceral fat: sits inside, behind the abs. It sticks out even when you lie down.
Subcutaneous fat: right under the skin, outside the abs. It spreads sideways when you lie down.
Think of it like this:
Visceral fat ///// Abs ///// Subcutaneous fat ///// Skin
👉 Ab workouts strengthen your abs, which can help keep visceral fat from bulging out
(similar to how sumo wrestlers have big bodies but their abs still hold everything in)
👉 But subcutaneous fat stays on the outside, so even with strong abs, your belly can feel soft.
To reduce subcutaneous fat, you’ll need full-body workouts and not just core exercises.
Get Abs in 2 WEEKS | Abs Workout Challenge
Video length: 10 minutes
YouTuber: Chloe Ting
Type: Bodyweight ab workout
Difficulty: Intermediate (you’ll get used to it within a week)
Workout Routine & Intensity
Total Calories Burned
Total calories burned: 53 kcal, Max heart rate: 117 bpm
(It’s not super high-intensity cardio, but it’s definitely a solid core burn)

Pros 👍
Even without changing my diet, I did this workout about 14 times in a month and noticed the faint outline of abs showing through, despite having belly fat.
Russian twists gave me funny side effects — I kept burping! (Probably because the move squeezes the stomach so much)
Cons ⚠️
Too challenging for absolute beginners
Can cause wrist, arm, or shoulder pain
Hard to keep up every single day for 2 weeks straight (Honestly, after one session my abs hurt so much that even laughing was painful)
Final Thoughts ✨
✅ Recommended for: people who want a simple ab workout at home with just one video
